Difference Between A Facebook Page & Facebook Profile
A Facebook page is for business purposes. Other users get to “Like” pages and follow what a certain business or brand is up to. Furthermore, you can use it for any type of business like stores or personal hobby (musician/poet/athlete).

On the other hand, a Facebook profile is for personal use. You do not collect “Likes” on Facebook profiles. Instead of “Likes”, you add other users as “Friends”. Most of the time, Facebook profiles are used to catch up with Family and Friends.

Step By Step Guide On Creating Your Facebook Page
You need to have an FB account before you can create a Facebook Page. Creating one is free and no payment is needed. Second, you need to have an objective as to why you are creating the said profile. This will help you pick the right category for your page.
Step 1: Creating The Page
Visit your profile and click on the ‘Create’ button at the top most part of the page. A drop down menu will appear like the one shown below. Click on the ‘Page’ option.
Step 2: Pick Your Page Type
In this step, you will be asked to pick between two options. Is your page a business or community/Public figure? A Business/Brand page can be a shop, online store, car hire, casino and so on. On the other hand, a Community/Public figure can be a musician, public figure, politician, art studio and so on.
For the purposes of this tutorial, I will pick the business/brand option.
Step 3: Picking Your Store Name & Category
Now that we know that we are a business, in this step, we will pick our store name and category. Fill in all the required details that are needed. Start with a catchy name that represents your business.
Other fields like Address and phone number are very important. Make sure you add your address so that users can be able to visit your store. This will give you an advantage because you will convert online users into walk-in clients.
Furthermore, having an address helps you reach people around your area easily. You do not need an address if your business operates entirely online. A phone number helps users call your business directly, so, make sure you have filled in a working number.
Step 4: Adding A Profile Picture & Cover Photo
A profile picture and cover photo are very important for your page. Make sure you have a profile picture that represents your business. You can create a simple logo for your business using Canva.
Canva offers a simple drag and drop interface that you can create logos, cover arts and so much more. On the other hand, if you want a professional logo created for you, you can visit Fiverr. They have so many amazing designers who can create a professional logo for you from as little as $5.
Step 5: Invite Friends
On the far right, you will see an option where you can invite friends to like your page. This is very important because of the following reasons.
- No one will like your page if it does not have any initial likes. You can get these likes by inviting your family and friends. They may not be your audience but you will easily get 50 – 100 likes just by inviting them.
- Once you have enough likes, Facebook will suggest your page to the friends of your friends. This way, you will grow organically. This is the easiest way to reach 1,000-page likes without buying ads.
- When creating ads, later on, you will use the objective of targeting friends of friends.
Step 6: Fill In Your Short Description
Click on the about section on your page.
You will be taken to the page below.
Make sure you fill out this entire section. Add the date your business was started, your website, email address, other social media accounts, your story and lastly pick a username for your page.
Filling in all this information will help people visiting your page know more about your business. A complete profile creates trust.
